On 24 October 2025, our firm hosted a webinar on the Treasury Shares regime for companies listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited and the Company Re-domiciliation regime. The regimes align Hong Kong with international standards by permitting listed issuers to hold repurchased shares as treasury shares and enabling overseas-incorporated companies to migrate their domicile to Hong Kong whilst preserving legal identity.

The session covered amendments to the Listing Rules and Companies Ordinance effective from 17 April and 23 May 2025 respectively, together with detailed compliance requirements including share repurchase mandates, resale restrictions, segregation obligations and disclosure rules relating to treasury shares, and the re-domiciliation application process administered by the Companies Registry.
