Charltons at the Legalink Conference in Athens

Kim Alison Larkin was delighted to represent Charltons Law at the Spring 2025 conference of Legalink Global Network of Independent Law Firms, hosted by Athens law firm, Moussas & Partners. Particularly fascinating were the presentations by former Greek Deputy Prime Minister, Evangelos Vinizelos, who played a key role in resolving the Greek debt crisis, Dr. Marinos Giannopoulos, who spoke on Greek investment opportunities, and Jemaro Nausedat of Tucan.ai, who gave a presentation on Legal AI. The conference also welcomed new Nigerian member law firm, Detail Solicitors, and provided networking opportunities for the 40+ firms who attended. Breakout sessions covered the network’s key practice areas including: M&A; Company, Trusts & Taxation; Fintech; Natural Resources, Energy & Environment; Real Estate, Project Finance & Construction; International Arbitration &Litigation; ESG; and IP, IT & Data Protection. The European, North American, Latin American and Asian law firms also met separately to discuss synergies and opportunities to work together and refer clients.
The Fintech Group also announced a webinar “2025: The Great US Crypto Reset” to be held on 12 June, 2025 at 8 am New York time, 8 pm Hong Kong time, with speakers Jordon Yeagley and Jodutt Basrawi of US firms, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC and Carter Ledyard, respectively, and moderated by Julia Charlton of Charltons, Hong Kong.
Tremendous thanks for organising a superb conference in Athens to Nikos Moussas, Loukia Papachatzi and their team, the Legalink general committee, Chris Trowbridge, Sonia Abraham, Göran Anderson and Alejandro Ripoll, and to Maria de Sá Nogueira and Kamle Hassian.
