Charltons at Meeting of APAC member firms of Legalink Global Network of Independent Law Firms

Kim Alison Larkin was delighted to represent Charltons at the annual conference of the Asia Pacific member firms of Legalink Global Network of Independent Law Firms in thriving Penang. Tremendous thanks to Sonia Abraham, HY Chong, Rajendra Navaratnam and the amazing team at Azman Davidson for organising insightful presentations by Malaysian industry experts and opportunities for delegates to connect and collaborate. Particular highlights were the presentations by Dato’ Seri Wong Siew Hai, President of the Malaysia Semiconductor Industry Association, on Penang’s phenomenal success in the semiconductor industry. As Asia’s Silicon Valley, Penang accounts for 5% of global semiconductor sales and is home to 3 of the world’s top 10 semiconductor companies. Dato’ Loo Lee Lian, CEO of InvestPenang, also gave a fascinating presentation on investment opportunities in Penang, which highlighted its strength in Medtech, electrical and electronics, machinery and equipment. Thanks too to Neeraj Kumar, Edmund Kronenburg and David Zou for spearheading greater collaboration between the 12 Legalink firms operating in the dynamic APAC region.
